Hockey morning

This is what our Saturday mornings look like these days. Esther's been playing matches for a while now without much (any, actually) success and today was Julia's first match.
First, I dropped off Irmie and Esther at one of her teammates' house so they could get a lift to their home club (Rijswijk HC) where they played Leiden and Oestgeest while Irmie worked behind the bar doling out lemon squash.
Then Julia and I went on to Ypenburg where she played their most junior team and won with a resounding final scoreline of something like 10-4, with Julia topscoring with four goals. It's a very entertaining form of the game - they play three-a-side on mini pitches with two goals at each end. I suspect I'm not going to see many 0-0 draws.
From there, we rushed over to Rijswijk to catch the second half of Esther's match. Her team took some unholy drubbings in its first couple of matches but has since improved greatly. Last time I watched, they lost 2-1 thanks to a goal on the last touch of the game (and, without at all wanting to sound like a poor loser, the referee should have blown full time at least two minutes earlier).
But today they were on fire. Esther had already scored a first-half hat-trick and added two more after the break as the team won 7-0 or maybe 8-0, it's kind of hard to keep track sometimes.
All the previous defeats made victory all the sweeter.
